GSXR750 FAQ

I created this page to record answers to some of the questions I had while prepping my bike. All information is for '96- up GSXR750s.

I am currently running a Factory 1.7 race kit, Yoshimura TI race pipe, K&N air filter. So far the best setup is 132.5/135 mains, 3rd groove from the top of the needle, and 3 turns out on the screws. Elevation is under 1000 feet.

The fuel pump from a carburated '96/'97 GSXR750 can be bolted onto a gas tank from a fuel injected '98-up GSXR750. The only required modification is blocking off fuel injection return. The reverse is not true. Internal copper tubing and the lack of fuel injection return prevents use of non injected gas tanks on fuel injected bikes.

Suspension setting I use on the track are:

Front forks: rider sag 1 3/8", compression 3/4 turns out from maximum, rebound 1 turn out from maximum.

Rear shock: rider sag 1", compression 3/4 turns out from maximum, rebound 1/2 turn out from maximum.

I weigh approximately 190 lb. with all the gear on.

I have not confirmed this myself, but it was suggested that I can run 110 link chain to accommodate wider range of sprocket selections. Stock chain is 108 links. I will be performing 530 to 520 chain conversion soon and will confirm this.
